Bud
Fenner began serving the Ward Street Church of Christ in October of 2004.
He and his family are natives of New England. Both he and his wife, Melissa,
were born and rasied in Rhode Island and were baptized into Christ while living
there. They were married in November of 1992 and have two children.
Before coming to Connecticut, Bud worked for seven years as the preacher for the
South County Church of Christ in Wakefield Rhode Island. Prior to that, he served
that congregation for two years as an associate minister and five years as there
youth minister.
As part of his preparation for church leadership, Bud placed himself under the
tutelage of Brother Gary Babcock in a Preacher Training Program and completed
that course in 1995. He was also a student of the Sunset International Bible
Institute and received Bible instruction first, by correspondence courses and then,
"on site" at the certified Satellite School in Fall River, Ma.
Bud has proven experience having worked with a growing church in the northeast. He
has a passion for souls in New England and is enthusiastic and goal oriented in
ministering to the lost and the saved. He has developed "Teen" and "Adult" Bible
curriculum, taught classes consisting of students of all ages, and has conducted
home studies as well as pre-marital counseling.
Being commited to young people, Bud has always been an active supporter of youth
ministry. He has directed several Vacation Bible School programs and has been very
involved with Tidal River Christain Camp. He was elected to the board of directors in
1992 and has served as their president since 1999"
The vision that Bud has for the Ward Street congregation is one in which he can help
them honor God by reaching out to those in need of a relationship with Jesus Christ
and that the church might realize their full potential as beacons of light in the world
